The date for this competition has changed to August 20-21, 2021.

We are very excited to announce the inaugural Pennsylvania Championship! Join us for a very sweet weekend of cubing and fun in historic Hershey Pennsylvania. We will have two special unofficial events as well as the option to have a day at HersheyPark on Sunday with all of your friends.

This is the state championship for Pennsylvania, however, anyone can attend. All state champion titles are unofficial and are not recognized by the World Cube Association or CubingUSA. For more information on state champion eligibility, see the PA Title eligibility tab.

This competition is recognized as an official World Cube Association competition. Therefore, all competitors must be familiar with the WCA regulations

If this is not your first competition, associate your WCA ID to your WCA account here.

There is a competitor limit of 200 competitors.
The base registration fee for this competition is $40 (United States Dollar).
The registration fee has to be paid through Stripe here once registered.
If your registration is cancelled before you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.
No on the spot registrations will be accepted.
Spectators can attend for free.

The registration fee is $40 if you register AND pay before midnight on July 11th
If you register before midnight on July 11th but do not pay before then, your registration fee will be $50.

Please keep in mind that registrations are approved manually after payment, so your registration may not be approved immediately.
Your registration is not complete until your registration fee has been paid.
All competitiors must read the "Competitor Information" tab.
Any requested changes to registration before registration closes will be honored.

WAITLIST INFORMATION:
If the competitor limit of 200 has been reached, you can still register and pay the registration fee to secure a spot on the waitlist. During the registration period, any competitor can cancel their registration and allow the first person on the waitlist to take their spot. If you find that you cannot make it to the competition after registering, please contact us so that we can maximize attendance.
All registrants still on the waitlist after the registration period will have their registrations deleted, and will be fully refunded.

Travel Options:
Driving: The Hershey Lodge is easily accessible from I-76, I-81, and I-83.

Parking: There is plenty of parking available for free right at the Hershey Lodge.

Plane: The closest airport is Harrisburg International Airport (MDT). It is roughly a 20 minute drive away by car. All transportation options from the airport can be found here

Bus/Train: Greyhound and Megabus both offer service into Harrisburg, from where you can access Hershey by car or public bus.
Amtrak offers service into their station in downtown Harrisburg, which is a short drive from Hershey and a handful of Hershey area hotels offer free shuttle service to and from the Amtrak station! Here some links to that information:

Hotels: We highly recommend booking your hotel stay directly at our official PA Championship hotel partner, the Hershey Lodge! When you stay at the lodge, you'll be able to take advantage of their prime location (at the venue!) and amazing offerings in service and comfort. Discounted HersheyPark tickets to be used at anytime over the weekend of the competition can be purchased from the link below. Tickets must be preordered and paid for in advance through Paypal; once you have completed the google form, an email for the amount of your ticket costs will be sent to you through Paypal. Tickets will be distributed at the registration table on August 21 and 22. Anyone wishing to receive their ticket prior to this date should contact Katharine Lively at livelykatharine@yahoo.com . Discounted tickets are $42.95; a savings of $31.85 per ticket. Tickets will be valid until September 27, 2020.

For First-Time Competitors

All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. This video gives a basic overview of the rules.

In addition, please read this document before coming to the competition.

For All Competitors

When you arrive, you will receive a card with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have judging/scrambling assignments on your card. Every competitor is expected to help out during the event(s) they are registered for. The card will look like the following:

If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.

You can apply to be a staff member at this competition! Just fill out this form

Staff will be limited to around 20 members. You will be contacted with staff decisions before the competition.

Tentative benefits provided to staff members:
Refunded registration fee after the competition and an evaluation of your staffing performance

This competition is the state championship for Pennsylvania, however anyone can attend. All podiums will be overall podiums, and all podium prizes will be overall as well. The Pennsylvania Champion in each event will win a special prize. The title of state champion is unofficial and is not recognized by the World Cube Association or CubingUSA.

The qualifications to be eligible are to have lived in Pennsylvania for six out of the last 12 months. Proof of eligibility can be given from a legal document such as a School ID or similar ID. You only need to prove your residency if you are the highest placing person from Pennsylvania, so if you have reasonable expectations at this please bring a form of identification.

We will be holding two unofficial events! TeamBLD and a single-elimination 3x3 tournament for teams of three.
Open registration for both events will take place all day on Friday at a special table designated for this. We will announce the location of this table at the competition.
The registration for these events is done on a first-come first-serve basis! Only the first 16 teams registered in each will be allowed to compete!

TeamBLD: Friday 4:30 - 5:15 PM

Two competitors per team. One will be designated as the "solver" and one as the "caller".
There will be one attempt per team.
Normal/Generally Accepted TeamBLD rules will apply.
This is an unofficial team event, no results will be stored in the WCA database.
The top 3 teams will be recognized in the award ceremony on Saturday.

3x3 Team Relay Tournament: Friday 7:45 - 9:00 PM

Back by popular demand! Based on the very successful 2019 Rubik's Nations Cup and CubingUSA Nationals 2019 Regions Relay, we are excited to bring you another team relay tournament!

Rules:
Three competitors per team. One cube per competitor.
Two teams will compete at a time in a head to head format.
Competitors on each team will solve one at a time in order and their times will be summed. The total team times will be compared to determine the winning team.
Normal WCA rules and penalties will apply.
A single-elimination bracket will be followed to determine the winner.
The winning team will be the team with the lowest total time. In case of same total times, the best individual solve is used to declare the winning team.
This is an unofficial team event, no results will be stored in the WCA database.
The top 3 teams will be recognized in the award ceremony on Saturday.

Live results will be available on WCALive during and after the competition.

Time limit

If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
A cumulative time limit may be enforced (see Regulation A1a2).

Cutoff

The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).

The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
